Changing habits can be poo heady

Clearly I am dreading my decision to change this latest habit when I use the word poo heady to describe what I think of the process.
This week I decided that my morning habits had to change. when I first moved in to our house I would get up and go walk Mono while Mario was in the shower. And I don’t know when it happened, probably some time in a winter month, but I started to feed the dog, make her go potty and then we would go back to bed and cuddle for another while. Lately I have been sleeping in a little longer, and having to rush more often in the morning and I am getting tired of it. So now that its getting lighter earlier and a little warmer I figured its probably a good time to change the habit. What I would like to do is wake up when the dog walks on my head (aka – 6 am) get out of bed, feed the dog, take the dog for a nice long walk, and then do a little light weight workout in my “gym” (aka the library, aka the guest room, aka the south wing, aka where I keep the swedish ball, hand weights, and yoga mat that I own). All of this and I want to have time so that I can shower, throw some lunch items in a bag, and be out the door by 8:00 am. So that alot to change. This is going to be a phased change.
Phase one: stay awake, don’t go back to bed. (two days down, 3 work days to go)
Phase 2: take mono for a walk, leaving by 6:15
phase 3: integrate some sort of light exercise other than just walking into my morning (I can’t imagine I will every be awake enough in the morning to run…unless chased, then I would hope I would wake up pretty quickly)

One of the things that waight watchers has helped me understand is just how much control over how I look and feel I have. Along with the weight loss I want to be more productive. I want to get to a point where I can maintain my weight by being active and not have to pay for a Gym membership. One day at a time they say…. works just as well for WW as it does for AA.

Wish me luck!
