I am really not a very good blogger type of person. I realize that when I look at my blog and expect there to be new content and realize, Oh yeah, I have to put it up there….. details details…..

Well I was at a conference for a week. Then I spent the weekend putting together wedding invitations and trying to get all that stuff organized (thank you everyone who helped with the invites!) When it was all said and done, all the invitations fit into one shoe box. It all looked so simple. Anyways, then last week I got sick and was home coughing up portions of my lung fors a week. One day I thought I was well enough to go to work, but then ended up having this terrible coughing fit and so they sent me home. Probably for the best. Since it was Good Friday on Friday I ended up with a one day week. Too bad I spent most of it sick sick sick.

This last weekend was very productive though. I started my wedding dress. I think I have been dreading it a little, like a little scared about what I have gotten myself into with the whole having to alter the pattern thing but I finally bucked up and started to do it and it really wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. Of course I am not sure I am altering the dress the “right” way, but as long as it fits, and stays together and looks nice, well then it will be the right way.

We also did our wedding registry. I was surprised to find out that Ikea does not have a very good registry system. One would think that a place like Ikea would be more on the ball. The other place we registered was Target. They have a really good system. Totally on the ball, very user friendly both for the couple and the person looking to buy the couple a gift.

We also had a big Planning session. We put the next 3 months up on the wall and plotted out when everything needs to be done. We wanted then to have a way to check off tasks and stuff. I had been using iScrybe for some of the wedding stuff, but in the end it wasn’t quite right. We are now using the Project Management section of Zoho.com. So far its nice. Its more fully featured from the get go than say BaseCamp or Backpack. It allows for milestones with tasks associated with them, as well as meetings. The reason we are using this is because of the tasks. I wish Google would get with it and enable Tasks. There is an inelegant way to put tasks into Google, and that is in the form of a site called Remember the Milk, but I didn’t like the way it shows up on my calendars, and I didn’t like that I couldn’t integrate it with a specific calendar. So now all of our tasks are in one place, and we can assign them to different people, but its a separate site to check. What ever helps us get to the wedding day without everything being done at the very last minute.

So that turned into more of a wedding update than a general update, but there you go. I guess it just goes to show where my head is right now.
